In the case you would not notice enough resemblance between human beings and primates, please take note of the fact that, as for hair quantity we even surpass them… Actually, even if it could seem different at first sight, the human body really has a lot of hair, though not visible at a glance as colourless. The whole human body is covered by hair except the hand palms, the foot soles and the pseudomucosa.
In comparison with the past, technology offers today various techniques to get rid of unwanted hair. The best choice can be made according to one's needs without forgetting first of all one's physiology.
Historical remedies
The need of getting rid of unwanted hair goes back to the most ancient ages as confirmed by some interesting finds discovered in Africa and Asia.
A good part of those techniques is still used today and based on absolutely natural ingredients boasting excellent effectiveness such as honey, sugar and lemon.
Obviously, we are speaking about hot wax whereas the cold wax is just an
invention of modern times. Once, to prepare the hot wax one had to warm its ingredients in a small pan and then apply it on the concerned body part after having checked the wax temperature (around 40° C).
Depilation and epilation, what is the difference between them?
A really impressive historical reference: people say that the Queen of Saba had won King Solomon's love also by means of her smoothly depilated body. Her basic ingredient was arsenic sulphide, today banned due to its toxicity and replaced by other metallic sulphides which do not have any injurious effect.
Though other beauty criteria have widely evolved or even transformed during human history, the one concerning unwanted hair is always the same. And still nowadays unwanted hair means slight blemish and slovenliness.

Two words refer to the action of removing unwanted hair but they are not interchangeable due to their substantial difference of meaning: depilation consists in removing hair from the skin surface, therefore externally whereas epilation represents the hair removal in its whole length, bulb inclusive.
At the Spa & Beauty Farm Romantica we offer the epilation technique, as it removes hair from the bulb and gives so long-lasting benefits. Among the various procedures we steadily choose the hot wax (warmed up to body temperature), composed by resins (also containing vegetable extracts able to decrease hair growth) as well as by beeswax.
Today, epilation with hot wax just differs from the one carried out in the past. It is important to test hair in order to determine its quantity and consistence as well as its direction so that the wax is applied the opposite way and succeeds in removing as much hair as possible. Moreover, the concerned body part has to be strewn with talc. Wax application takes just a few minutes (it must be previously warmed up to around 40° C). After controlling its solidification it can be removed by means of a sharp movement which also helps feel less trouble.
However, we would like to highlight that this kind of epilation is absolutely contraindicated in case of venous disease and/or visible capillary vessels.
A wide range of epilation treatments is available at the Beauty Farm Romantica, among them some are for men. Here are the most requested ones: Upper lip area or Eyebrow, Bikini area or Armpits, Arms or Legs and, for men, Back or Thorax
