Rediscovering beauty

Hand Care

Face and body care are an individual matter for every woman; some body parts are privileged to disadvantage of others. Surely, the final result is very pleasant as a whole but hands frequently reveal one's true age as they are not sufficiently cared. From a social point of view, hands are steadily close-up and express unequivocally the way we take care of them.

They are always exposed to a level of stress which is higher in comparison with other body parts, besides suffering damage by some detergents which thin their hydro-lipidic film. A precaution to be taken without delay is for instance the use of gloves during housework and of a sun protecting cream in summer as well as of specific cosmetics in every season. Among them, the presence of sweet almond or jojoba oil, shea butter and/or glycerine reveals marked effectiveness. In winter, cold, wind and rain increase the risks of damages for hands' skin, which has to be protected with a nourishing cream and gloves. Another excellent remedy for hands is the extra vergine olive oil (today also present in many cosmetics) which is highly effective if applied on hands with a light massage, especially before the night rest.
Apart from the given remedies, hands benefit also from specific treatments: first of all a complete manicure once a week, followed occasionally by a friction with olive oil on the nails (without nail enamel) or a massage with lemon juice and the application of cuticle oil.

On the other hand, from a physiologic point of view a significant function of the nails has to be highlighted: in the case they look weak and brittle there is undoubtedly a general physical weakness. White specks in nails reveal a lack of calcium and/or silicon whereas the alteration or absence of the white half moon at the base of the nail shows high stress. Dark nails point out a decrease of blood oxygenation (cyanosis). Convex and dark nails highlight a circulatory or cardiac disease whereas the opposite appearance (fair and concave nails) can mean anaemia.

Nails

The nail is formed by the lamina (visible part) and the matrix (hidden). The average growth of nails is around 3 mm monthly.

Today every professional treatment is really pleasant for hands thus benefiting not only from a simple manicure but also from other specific treatments able to restore health and beauty to brittle or damaged nails. Beauty nail reconstruction succeeds in giving a totally renewed look both in terms of length and colour/beauty. Among the different techniques available the most effective are based on gel and resin.

Beauty nail reconstruction by gel

Several gels are mixed to produce the nail's thickness and fixed by means of an ultraviolet ray lamp. As a result, nails get a very natural and charming look.

Beauty nail reconstruction by resin

Particularly suitable for those who suffer from nail-biting as it helps get rid of the ailment.

French manicure

Extremely trendy, it consists in painting nails especially in the upper area, thus giving hands a very refined look.

Hand treatment with paraffin

Innovation remedy, this smoothing treatment for chapped hands gives real and long-lasting benefits. Hands are dipped into paraffin while wearing gloves and left in for around 10-15 minutes. Finally, gloves are removed and a moisturising or nourishing cream is applied.
