On July 1949 on the Roland Garros tennis court in Paris, the great Gianni Cucelli beat the French champion Marcel Bernard in a stunning match and gave Italy its first post-war Davis Cup victory. Thus began the Italian Golden Age of Tennis which lasted 12 years and reached its ultimate triumph in December 1960 in Perth, Australia, with the extraordinary victory over the powerful USA team.
Today the Italian team is not as outstanding as formerly but for all lovers of this noble and widely-loved sport we offer without charge a fully renovated tennis court with synthetic turf and a breathtaking view.
